The story is about a girl and her troubled past and how she overcomes it to become a confident person. She is living with her aunt and abused by his brother, but her dad comes back to take care of her. Her father has remarried and she doesn't like it, but tries to deal with his remarriage. She meets this guy who was an alcoholic married man whose wife left him because he walked out of their marriage. Gradually they become friends and then finally start dating each other. The guy helps the girl find herself again even though they both have this troubled past that haunts them in different ways. He gets her to believe in herself and what she can do. She is able to finally live freely without the trouble that has haunted her. "Dear Zindagi" is inspired by Aditya Parekh's life, or rather parts of it. The film goes back to his early years, when he was still living on the streets of Mumbai. It features his first love, Sameera (born as Sameeraa), who plays a large part in this film. In 2005, she was married to a man named Aditya Parekh just like the protagonist of the film from the same name is played by Vatsal Sheth. The film is produced by Zee Studios.
